Using the Wheel as an Everyday Decision Maker

A spinning wheel is a useful decision maker precisely because it removes the part of the process that stalls you: the endless re-weighing of options that are all roughly equal. Type the choices you are genuinely willing to accept, spin once, and commit to what comes up. If the result makes you flinch, that reaction is itself information — you already had a preference, and now you know what it is.

For decisions that deserve more than chance, list the trade-offs first with the pros and cons list generator and bring only the surviving options to the wheel. If you would rather see a plain list than a spinner, the multiple choice selector picks from the same options without the animation, and the number wheel does the job when your options are numbers rather than words.

Making the Wheel Fair

Every spin on this page uses your browser's random number generator, and the wheel is re-evaluated from scratch each time — previous results have no effect on the next one. Each option you enter gets an equal slice, so if you want one choice to come up more often, simply enter it on more than one line. To draw several different winners without the same name coming up twice, use the random number generator without repeats or the raffle number generator instead.
